Mary, the youngest child of Ellen Maud and George James Dennison, was born on 21 June 1907, the birth being registered on 1 Aug 1907 at Woolwich.
Mary, being the closest in age of the Dennisons to Evelyn Collins, was a frequent visitor to Claremont, the Collins' home in Burrage Road, and often accompanied them on family holidays to resorts such as Cromer in Norfolk. Many photographs survive of Mary and the Collins family on the beach. After the Collinses moved to Leigh-on-Sea, Mary, her husband Edwin Hancock and their children continued to visit, and in turn were regularly visited in Blackheath by their cousins.
