Ralph Norman Angell Lane is better known as the Nobel Peace Prize winner Sir Norman Angell who, influenced at an early age by the writings of such radical thinkers as Huxley, Darwin and John Stuart Mill, spent his life writing and lecturing on the theme of world peace. At the age of 90 he went on a lecture tour of the United States, where he had spent seven years as a young man.
