On 5 January 1832 Henry was called as a witness in the trial of Hannah Gadsby at the Old Bailey for stealing two sheets and a counterpane 3 days earlier. Henry gave evidence as follows: "I am a pawnbroker and live in Tothill Street. I took in a sheet and a quilt from a woman on the 3rd of January."
In November 1832 Henry was called to the Old Bailey again as a witness in the trial of Ann Turner, who was indicted for stealing a shawl to the value of 7 shillings, the property of George Raveoor, a pawnbroker on Tothill Street, Westminster, for whom Henry was working as a shopman. He described accosting the accused as she left the shop with the shawl and recovering the stolen property.
